Wilma B. Pischke

ONALASKA — Wilma B. Pischke, 92, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at Onalaska Care Center with her family by her side.

She was born in Melrose, Wis., on Aug. 12, 1915, to George and Enanda (Haugen) Isbell. Wilma married Addis C. Pischke on Jan. 19, 1935, and he preceded her in death May 7, 1982.

Wilma worked many years at Metallic’s Inc. in Brice Prairie, Wis. She was a life member of First Lutheran Church in Onalaska. She liked to cook, play cards and always enjoyed a good game of Scrabble.

Wilma is survived by her five children, Norma Johnson of Onalaska, Donovan (Rosalie) Pischke of Onalaska, Diane (Don) Walczak of Wauwatosa, Wis., Larry and friend Marilyn of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., and Allan Pischke of Onalaska; seven grandchildren, Paul Pischke of Stoddard, Wis., Karen (Dan) Walczak of Sheboygan, Wis., John Pischke of Onalaska, Mark Pischke of La Crosse, Amanda Pischke of Madison, Nathan and friend Brook of Crystal, Minn., and Isaac (fiance Kerry) Pischke of La Crosse; two great-granddaughters, Alexandria and Dana Pischke; three brothers, Harold Isbell of West Salem, Wis., Warren (Dee) Isbell of Sparta, Wis., and Donald (Carol) Isbell of Janesville, Wis.; one sister, Marion Grabowski of Greenfield, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Addis, she was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Josey, Erma and Vivian; two brothers, James and Lloyd; and a son-in-law, Jack Johnson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 14, at First Lutheran Church, 410 Main St., Onalaska. The Rev. Jason Stanton will officiate, and a private family burial will be in South Beaver Creek Cemetery, rural Ettrick, Wis. Friends may call at the church Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the entire staff at Onalaska Care Center for the kind and loving care you provided. You made mom feel at home.

Dickinson Family Funeral Home, Onalaska, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Shelby Lynn Bashaw

HOLMEN — Shelby Lynn Bashaw, 44, of Holmen, died peacefully Monday, June 9, 2008, at Franciscan Skemp Medical Center in La Crosse.

She was born Sept. 27, 1963, at Alsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City, S.D., to Jens and Antoinette (BadWarrior) Petersen. Shelby attended Holmen High School. In 1995 she married Steve Bashaw and they later divorced.

Shelby was a member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe, and she was very proud of her Native American heritage.

Survivors include her daughter, Jessica (Shawn) Sweeney of North Canton, Ohio; two grandchildren, Kaiden Sweeney and Cameron Sweeney; her father, Jens Petersen of Holmen; three sisters, Laurel (James) Gundlach of Holmen, Shannon BadWarrior Petersen of Inver Grove Heights, Minn., and Leann Petersen (Joey Nesseth) of Onalaska; two nieces, Danielle Petersen of Appleton, Wis., and Ava Petersen of Onalaska; and two nephews, Elijah LoneTree of Inver Grove Heights, Minn., and Jaron Skifton of Onalaska.

Shelby was preceded in death by her mother, her maternal grandparents and her paternal grandparents.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 13, at Onalaska Church of Christ, 1415 Well St., Onalaska. The Rev. Gordon Clary will officiate. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of services.

Jostad-Jandt Funeral Home of West Salem is in charge of arrangements.

Vivian M. Seiler

ONALASKA — Vivian M. Seiler, 90, of Onalaska died May 24, 2008, at Onalaska Care Center in Onalaska.

She was born to Alfred and Louisa Miller on Jan. 14, 1918, in La Crosse.

She married Adolph “Edgie” Seiler on Oct. 4, 1939, at Blessed Sacrament Church in La Crosse.

Her interests included her grandchildren, sewing and helping others. She was a member of Onalaska Senior Citizens and was instrumental in starting the Young at Heart group at St. Patrick’s Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Patricia L. Lee (fiance Albin Norby) of Onalaska and Kathleen M. and Peter Sieger of Minneapolis; one son, Michael J. and Susan Seiler of Bellbrook, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Eric Neuman and fiancee Elizabeth Airhood, Steve and Sandra Neuman, Victoria Ostrander, Matthew and Vesna Jordan, Kurt and Sheila Seiler, Kari and Stan Mallory, Heidi and Steve Hurley, Nick and Flannery Sieger, and Gretchen and Michael Cordner; 16 (almost 17) great-grandchildren, Ian Stauffer, Erica Neuman, David Ostrander, Emily and Olivia Neuman, Morgan and Logan Neuman, and soon to be baby girl Jordan, Mace Mallory, Kyle and Reagan Seiler, Austin, Jacob and Timothy Hurley, Vivian and Ruby Sieger and Liam Cordner.

She was preceded in death by her husband, “Edgie,” and her parents.

A Funeral Mass will be at St. Patrick’s Church in Onalaska on Saturday, June 14, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Patrick Umberger will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to services. Burial will be at Catholic Cemetery in La Crosse.

Special thanks to the staff at Onalaska Care Center for their kind and loving care and also to Judi West — a special friend — you’re the best; and her kitty “Missy,” her best buddy.

Memorials may be given to Altzheimer’s Association or La Crosse County Humane Society.
