Junior Michelle Herbrand, the daughter of Rick and Kathy Herbrand, is Holmen High School’s Student of the Week, nominated by art teacher Liz Schank.

“She absolutely goes above and beyond the expectations set of the young artists I work with every day … for which I am very grateful,” Schank said of Herbrand

Herbrand said the best thing about art class is just being there. “The curriculum is built so that you can do just about anything you want,” she said.

Herbrand is in National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, band, Art Club, tennis and powerlifting.

Her favorite book is “Pride and Prejudice.” Her favorite movies are “Airplane” and “Anchorman.”

After high school, Michelle plans to go to college, although she is unsure of what major to choose. Her advice for other students: “Be yourself.”
